STARBASE ROBINS HOSTS “SUPER” REGIONAL ROBOTICS TOURNAMENT Warner Robins, Georgia, January 5, 2009- STARBASE ROBINS will host a FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Regional Lego League Robotics competition on Saturday January 10, 2009 at the Museum of Aviation. The opening ceremonies will begin at 9:00 am in the Century of Flight Hangar, and the competition will conclude with an awards ceremony at 3:30 pm. Elliott announced last month he was leaving the job he held for the past 24 years to enter private practice. | The Houston County fire department fought a fire that damaged a barn. According to a news release, it happened around 7:20 a.m. at 173 Farr Road.Fire department spokesman Daniel Evans said the back of the barn was on fire when firefighters arrived. | Warner Robins car dealer Eddie Wiggins reopened for business Friday. On Wednesday, Wiggins filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. That protects a company from its creditors while it tries to stay in business. Wiggins says this effort to recoup cash for his creditors may be his "swan song", but he's not going out of business without a fight. [ See Full Story ] | Warner Robins Got News Says Happy New Year State Patrol Predicts 20 Holiday Traffic Deaths 31.DEC.08 The Georgia State Patrol is predicting 20 traffic deaths on Georgia roads during the 102-hour New Year's Day holiday weekend that begins Wednesday at 6 p.m. and ends at midnight Sunday.
The patrol estimates there will be 3,008 accidents with 1,350 injuries. Last year during a 102-hour holiday period there were 2,109 accidents with 1,250 injuries and 22 deaths.

Georgia joins a small band of states complying with guidelines in a 2006 federal law requiring authorities to track Internet addresses of sex offenders. A Warner Robins auto dealer says the economy is taking its toll on his business. Eddie Wiggins, who owns an Buick, Pontiac and GMC dealership, says he'll meet with his attorneys this afternoon to discuss whether to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
